EVANGELISCHE KANTOREI MOOSBURG
The Evangelische Kantorei is the choir of Moosburg's Lutheran Church - but we
welcome everybody, no matter what his or her denomination
may be.
Our repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary
music, both sacred and secular, and also in foreign
languages (English, French, Italian, Hungarian etc.). Our
main task is to sing in church, but we are also giving
public concerts. So, in the recent past, we performed
- Renaissance madrigals
- songs from "The Threepenny Opera" and
"Oklahoma!"
- William Byrd's "Mass for Four Voices"
- "St. John's Passion", the 103rd Psalm and "Es gingen
zweene Menschen hinauf" by Heinrich Schütz
- the cantata "Wer sich selbst erhöhet" by Johann
Sebastian Bach
- the "Sparrow Mass" and "Dixit et Magnificat" by
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- "Via Crucis" by Franz Liszt
- "Stabat Mater" by Zoltán Kodály
- Wilhelm Keller's Bavarian oratorio "Oana geht um im
Land" ("Somebody's haunting the country")
- as well as - for the first time in history - a
requiem by the Munich composer Jean-Marie Bernard.
In 1999 our first compact disk was released:
"Passionsmusik aus Furth und Moosburg". Samples:
The second CD was recorded in December 2000 in
