Historic houses in Herrnstraße

Herrnstraße (c. 38 kbytes) The houses in the east part of Herrnstraße have survived the big fire of 1865. Therefore some Baroque façades can be seen, like the red one of the chemist's shop (Stadtapotheke). The former Schloder bakery at the end of the street is now "The Pub".

Hölzlhaus (c. 48 kbytes) Hölzlhaus is a well-preserved 18th century town house. Its front is decorated with pilasters and has a Baroque gable. In the niche above the porch a statue of St Castulus guards the house which was owned by canons of Moosburg's clerical chapter. These canons (Chorherren) gave Herrnstraße its name.
